Gates, Strife, and Statistics

Greetings, Illyrians!
No, Sheogorath, I have not “croaked,” though I do appreciate your gentle concern for my well-being! Also, the submissions you sent to me this month.. well, the links are broken and I cannot see them.
A few notable matters have transpired since my last issue, which I shall proceed to detail in due course.
However, in this month’s edition of the IllyQuill, I am delighted to introduce a brand-new section dedicated to current world stats. This shall feature the active troop movements, recent alliance diplomacies, notable combat figures, and any other intriguing tidbits that catch my watchful eye. I intend to update these figures with every issue, positioned just before my usual sign-off. While I hope to return to publishing more frequently than once a month, for the time being, this represents the full extent of my resources.
Centrum Gate Saga
Our primary item of intrigue today centers on the Centrum Gates. An attempt was made to forge a four-way confederation between SMA, mCrow, YARR, and BRUTE in an effort to prevent Chill from capturing all four gates. Alas, as so often happens in this realm, the alliance fizzled out. Whispers suggest the downfall stemmed from YARR abusing the agreement by launching attacks against non-gate-related towns. It is further alleged that YARR cast the blame upon Eternal Fire, prompting his departure to form a new alliance, CHINA. Furthermore, the familiar YARR orc, Orcimedes, has vanished from the realm—rumored to have departed in the wake of this very collapse. I can personally say that I will miss his Global Chat antics.
Reports from the public forum reveal the following trail:
“The Pirate Kings, Unleash the Bastards, Murder of Crows, and Shrapnel’s Memorial Academy have come together as one to protect the server from Chill Aggression. We are not seeking these units for our own selfish interests and have vowed to refrain from any aggressive use. Ownership will pass to Murder of Crows under ScottFitz’s leadership for defensive operations only.” — 9/16/26
“Grokh’s decision gives Chill control of the West Gate, while the North Gate remains under the control of Younger Dryas of the Dwarven Lords and the South Gate remains controlled by Sunflower of Black Sails [WARR!], a constituent alliance of The Grand Fleet.” And “The West Gate development comes shortly after the Dwarven Lords [Dlord] declared that they would remain neutral in any conflict over the gates.” Finally “NORTH — Dwarven Lords [Dlord]. Younger Dryas controls the gate. Dlord has declared neutrality and offered temporary cooperation with whichever alliance secures the other three.
SOUTH — Black Sails [WARR!] / The Grand Fleet.Sunflower controls the gate.
WEST — Chill Guys [Chill]. Grokh controls the gate after joining Chill at approximately 19:38 ST.
EAST — Unoccupied. Sunflower has established Sovereignty I over the square. Military forces have also been observed there, although their ownership has not been publicly established.” — 9/16/2026
“Eternal Fire, has unconditionally surrendered to Chill Guys; Per terms, I am unable to be a member of YARR, or any sister alliance of the Grand Fleet. I paid a ransom of two tomes, and two soul-forged Blades.” — 9/20/26
The ultimate disposition of the gates settled thus:
“Grokh — home alliance: Chill (note: player subsequently left Chill, briefly joined YARR!, then abandoned) Sunflower — home alliance: WARR! / The Grand Fleet Kurzman — home alliance: SkB Younger Dryas — home alliance: Dlord” — 10/6/26
It is also worth noting that prior to abandoning the realm, Grokh launched his forces directly at the Dlord-held gate, resulting in his complete award troop annihilation before his final exit. Rumors that he operated as a mole continue to circulate freely. Bagno
Bagno, the player featured in our previous issue regarding “super centrum,” has gone entirely quiet. She has since parted ways with her alliance, and her profile briefly featured a tirade directed at her fellow realm-mates, likening the game to Lord of the Flies. The page has since been wiped completely clean.
CHILL vs. ???
For some time now, Chill and BRUTE have been exchanging hostiles and colorful insults. While no formal war has been declared, it is quite safe to assume there is no love lost between them. An anonymous source informs me that over 59,000 diplomatic units met their demise while attempting to strike BRUTE cities—units arriving from the direction of the Chill Guys stronghold, situated east of BRUTE’s Tallimar center.
Adding fuel to the fire, ganegui of Chill was recently overheard in Global Chat declaring an intent to “burn EE to the ground.” EE, of course, refers to EAGLES EYRIE, currently ranked 25th in the realm, while Chill holds 11th. Does this signal an impending multi-front engagement for Chill? Rest assured, dear readers, your author will be keeping a watchful eye on the situation.
Landclaim Updates
On October 1st, the BRUTE alliance issued the following public declaration:
“All land east of the -150 longituginal meridian in Tallimar to the east coast of Tallimar is hereby claimed by Unleash the Bastards (BRUTE) effective today.” — 10/1/26 (https://forum.illyriad.co.uk/brute-land-claim-tallimar_topic11294.html)
The ongoing Landclaim section of the IllyQuill shall henceforth reflect this new boundary.

Across our realm, there are currently 6,533,756 troops on the march. Our living world boasts a total population of 334,366,234, standing proud at 6,086 days old.
The single highest attack stat recorded over the past month belongs to none other than:
- Grokh — Sun 04 Oct 2026 — 62,700 (a direct result of his previously noted suicide maneuver).
