It has been brought to my attention that something has changed with the innerworkings on the IllyQuill. I am stating here that I didn’t change any settings on the site, so I’m thinking it’s a WordPress thing. If anyone knows differently, please reach out. I DO NOT want to force anyone to subscribe, ever. Thanks for understanding. That said — a sincere thank you to everyone who has subscribed and continues to submit whispers to the Quilly. You’re the reason the ink keeps flowing.
The Curious Case of Gilsus
Gilsus has since been banned as of October 9th, thus no longer an “herb-claim” to be had. Whether it was for being a multi or for conduct issues, we may never know. However, he had recently received a chat ban ([see here]) — and this was followed by a post from the Dev Team on the forums ([linked here]) just before the ban became apparent.
The timing of this next bit was something to witness — the siege landed several days after Gilsus’ account was banned, on October 14th:
“[03:35]<System> News Flash: JeremyJoe’s large hamlet of 07. JJ’s Thaumaturgy is now under siege by Gilsus’ [TCol] legendary city of 01.”
Unclear how this one will play out, but it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on.
Discord Déjà Vu
Also of note, from today —
“[16:22]<Nani Sunt Saporiti> Can I have my ban on Discord lifted?”
For those not in the know, Nani Sunt Saporiti is Zenrath, who also had a chat ban mentioned in the aforementioned post.
“[16:23]<GM Jejune> Nani Sunt Saporiti, global chat is not the place to ask that kind of question. If you or anyone is having any issues regarding Illyriad’s Discord server, you can petition it.”
To which Nani replied, in a rather tongue-in-cheek way — apologizing for the interruption, but not entirely sorry:
“[16:24]<Nani Sunt Saporiti> Sorry, it’s just that when I do submit a petition they sit unread for multiple months and then I have to message again and I didn’t want to be seen as harassing the devs. This seemed quicker.”
Interesting to witness, to be sure. As always, I’m glad to help you witness if you missed the exchange earlier today. There was some crosstalk with other players, but that’s the gist of it. Will the Discord ban be lifted? The realm may never know – just kidding, some of us will know.
