✒ A Facelift for the Quill

Greetings, dear listeners!

Some of you may have noticed the Quill received what was fondly called a “facelift” yesterday. My intent remains as ever: to fill the empty space left by the Illyriad Times, while adding my own small flourish of ink. If you glance at the navigation, you’ll see two fresh additions: Notable History and Land Claim Maps.

The Notable History page is an ambitious project — a place where I aim to collect summaries of wars, dramas, memorials, obituaries, and all the colorful tales that once found their way into the Times. (Of course, I’ll be citing sources respectfully along the way.) If you’d like to see something specific added, do whisper it my way via the contact box.

The Land Claim Maps, meanwhile, are exactly what they sound like. Since Eowan, who long updated them, has been absent off and on, I may need a willing hand from within Illyria to carry the torch forward.

The Dragon Tournament nears its end, and the top ten seems firmly etched in stone.

Still, an honorable mention must go to H?, currently sitting at 49 days, 10 hours, 18 minutes. Should fate trip up Vortx, H? could yet slip past.

🗺 The Future of Land Claims

From one of our ever-watchful listeners comes a detailed reflection on the future of land claims:

“Remy has been promoting a future alliance—perhaps tied to YARR/Arr, though no one can say for sure. Many expect a new land claim north of YARR’s current ground. Sif of SC recruits heavily in Westmarch, and with Thirion stepping back, will we see an RE Westmarch Part II? Spartan’s profile has always hinted at a claim, but will he risk another war? Yuman of SMA suggested in the official Discord that Elijal may be claimed soon—perhaps serious, perhaps jest. TDF grows, taking in Stuk; Bradley’s future path may mirror his past. Vind could be claimed with ease, but would the Grand Fleet welcome a neighbor or see a threat? For the first time in my memory, Illyria rests without conflict. Some hunger for a fight, others cling to peace.”
