Vol. IX: – The One With the Pirate Captain

Vol IX: – The One With the Pirate Captain

Dated: 23 August 2025

Some stories write themselves. Others? Well, they leave the whole realm whispering.

The Kindly Departure

Captain Kindly, a long-time SMA figure, has left his post and joined YARR. Why? That depends on which whisper you catch.

  • Some claim he was kicked after a Global Chat ban incident.
  • Others say he wanted to join the winning team.
  • Still others whisper he was a source for YARR all along.

From the #2 team to the #1 team—over halfway through the tournament? That does raise questions.

Jah Stirs the Pot

Jah has thrown down a challenge to newbs in his latest forum post: “Make PvP Great Again Newb Event”. The idea? Give newer players a taste of combat with small-scale, low-stakes battles. The rules limit troop counts to encourage fair play, and the spirit is about learning the art of PvP without risking cities or years of training.

Whether this sparks fresh warriors—or fizzles—remains to be seen.

Tournament Blood & Smoke

The battlefield numbers continue to climb:

  • Roads & SkB keep trading the third-place spot.
  • Union has gone very hard on Qarosslan (6,156,206 casualties and counting), still the deadliest square.
  • SMA ejected the pirate boss himself, Ranalos, from Kormandly—multiple times. Kormandly stands as the second deadliest square, with 4,367,023 casualties.
  • From the YARR camp, a verified whisper reports Ice_Zro dropped a town beside a tournament square and now draws more incoming than the square itself. Bold move.

Whispers & Diplomacy

Diplomatic missions are reportedly striking towns in leading alliances (YARR, SMA, SkB, Roads, TCol). Not the approved exo-target towns—these are core cities.

Meanwhile, sentiment in the realm seems to be shifting. Anger is brewing against TCol, whose land-claim tournament squares may be tested soon. If so, they’ll have to prove they can hold them.

The Realm Awakens

New faces abound, and some old names have returned to the fold. The realm feels alive again. Here’s hoping it remains lively—if not always peaceful.

Until Next Time…

The Quill listens, the Quill wonders, and the Quill never quite sleeps.
