Vol. I — The Silence is Broken

The silence is dispelled.
A number of dramatic developments have unfolded, and as your humble Scribe, I shall report them to the best of my knowledge—and, of course, with a dash of flair.
⚔️ Broken Lands: A Claim Contested
The long-standing land claim held by The Grand Fleet in the Broken Lands has now been formally counterclaimed by CHILL, effective August 1st, 2025. In an unprecedented move, CHILL gave a generous amount of notice before, in their words, “appropriate action will take place.” [Refer to Jah’s post in the forum: https://forum.illyriad.co.uk/chill-counterclaim_topic11209.html#112313]
The situation promises to be a slow-burning fire—one that may smolder for months, given the size and history of The Grand Fleet. Whether it erupts into full war or fizzles into diplomacy, I shall report every turn with inked precision.
🧭 Farewell, Eowan… or Not?
In a surprise exit from the realm, longtime citizen Eowan has departed Illyriad entirely. Her parting words, now immortalized on her profile, read: “And Eowan left, seeing as she had other worlds yet to conquer.”
Whispers suggest she may have returned under a new guise, though no evidence has surfaced (and if it has, it’s been well buried). Notably, some quiet conflict preceded her departure—rumors of friction with members of The Grand Fleet. Whether these tensions played a role, we may never truly know. Some say they saw it coming. Some, however, were stunned.
🧠 Trivia Tuesdays Continue
House Fenring continues to host Trivia Tuesdays at 20:00 server time in Global Chat, an event previously marked by Eowan’s presence—but her absence has opened the floor for new contenders.

🧀 Sheogorath: Quieter, Yet Still… Cheesy
Sheogorath, Mad God of the Chaos Alliance, remains semi-active, though his nonsensical musings have lessened since the tournament ended. Offerings of cheese may provoke commentary—but beware, for cheese draws rats, and rats bring chaos.
🧱 Clay Incident: Not Repeated (Yet)
Despite multiple requests for resources in GC—even by seasoned players—the infamous Clay Incident has yet to repeat itself. Some justification may exist: a few are being forcibly Exo’d due to the CHILL counterclaim. Resource-begging, then, may not be entirely shameful. Only mostly.
💍 Courtship Watch
Though still unmarried, Lonewolf and MonkeyJtzu continue to bicker and banter like a couple twenty-five years into matrimony. May love (or mutual stubbornness) soon win out.
