My dearest denizens of Illyriad, I apologize for not updating last week, but-
What a glorious 2 weeks it has been for those of us who thrive on spilled secrets and spilled blood alike! Gather ‘round, for your faithful quill has much to report.
⚔️ The Greatest Clash Ever Fought
If you glanced at your map and thought your eyes deceived you — nay, you were not dreaming. Thorfinn himself remarked that the armies moving across the realm had swelled by millions. Indeed, on the first of July, Illyriad bore witness to its largest single battle in living memory.
The indomitable [Chill] alliance, locked in a savage war with [Laugh], laid siege to a city in Lucerna. Enter the legendary Dwarven Lords [Dlords], who could not stand idly by. With the mighty Nelsifer Muledwun at the helm, 420,000 stalwarts armed with dwarven short swords charged forth. The result? A cataclysmic 3,372,717 casualties between both sides, and a staggering 4,416,457 XP turned to ashes.
Should you hear whispers of this clash in taverns, know that they do not exaggerate — the earth itself remembers where so many fell.
🕊️ Yarr’s Respite
In an unexpected twist, [Chill] has abandoned their war and land claim quarrel with [Yarr]. In their own words — “I sadly regret to inform the Illyriad community that the epic Chill vs. TGF counterclaim is postponed indefinitely… but rest assured, we’ll be finding plenty of laughs elsewhere.”

🗡️ Of Madness, Freeman, and Vermin
Meanwhile, the drama between Sheogorath and our beloved Freeman has been quelled — once more. And whom do we have to thank? None other than that charming pest Remy. It would seem that even the maddest minds may find common ground when a rodent meddles.
🕵️ Stalking Shadows and GC Murmurs
Last Sunday, Global Chat seethed with tension as Gilsus and Toki found themselves embroiled in a storm. Gilsus leveled accusations of stalking, though little was proven — and yet, the sudden hush of Gilsus has not escaped this author’s notice.
⚒️ Relics and Blades Long Forged
A different kind of treasure sparked chatter too — the Soul Forged blade. Rumor has it that one savvy collector has amassed quite the trove, thanks to trades with players long departed from these lands. Keep an eye out, should you find one pointed at your door.
📜 IllyTools Remembered
Nostalgia has a way of creeping in, and so the tale of IllyTools resurfaced. To quote Captain Kindly “Illytools was created by Eaque, at that moment my alliance mate in EE. After Eaque quit the game, Tens contacted him and got permission to use the source code and build on to what is now Durctools.” May it live on forever more.
⚙️ A Word from the Forge
Lastly, a proclamation from Duran himself:
